Building Hope Supports Expansion of South Florida Autism Center with New School and Administrative Facility in Hialeah, Florida

Building Hope is proud to support the continued growth of the South Florida Autism Center (SFAC) through the financing of a new three-story school and administrative facility in Hialeah, Florida. Located adjacent to the existing South Florida Autism Charter School campus, the project will expand access to critical educational, therapeutic, and life-skills services for individuals on the autism spectrum.

The new facility will be developed on the existing campus and is designed to serve both students and adults with autism, addressing a growing need for continued services beyond traditional K–12 education. The project represents a significant investment in a comprehensive, campus-based model that supports individuals across all stages of life.

Building Hope is acting as the lender on the project, providing up to $5 million in construction financing to help bring the facility to life. The total project cost is estimated at approximately $10.8 million, with additional support coming from affiliated organizations and state funding.

The planned 31,000+ square foot facility will include a wide range of specialized spaces tailored to the needs of the autism community. These include therapy and training rooms, daycare and early intervention spaces, vocational and life-skills training environments, fitness and recreational areas, and administrative offices. The building is designed to support a holistic approach to care, combining education, therapy, and independent living support within a single, integrated campus.

South Florida Autism Center operates as part of a broader network affiliated with South Florida Autism Charter Schools, one of the only charter school systems in the region exclusively serving students with autism. Since its founding, the organization has been committed to providing early intervention, educational programming, community outreach, and adult services, ensuring continuity of care for individuals and their families.

The expansion comes in response to increasing demand for services, particularly for individuals who have aged out of traditional school systems but still require structured support, vocational training, and community integration opportunities. The new facility will allow the organization to expand its programming, including therapy services, adult independence programs, and family support initiatives.

Construction is expected to be completed in time to support programming for the 2026–2027 school year, further strengthening the organization’s ability to serve hundreds of individuals across South Florida.

Building Hope is honored to partner with South Florida Autism Center on this impactful project. By providing flexible, mission-driven financing, Building Hope continues to support schools and organizations that deliver specialized, high-quality education and services to communities with critical needs.
