Future Forward Schools Prize & Fellowship Program

Building Hope has partnered with Britebound (formerly American Student Assistance) to launch the Future Forward Schools Prize & Fellowship Program, a national initiative designed to recognize and support schools that excel in career exploration beginning in middle school. The program honors innovation, expands access to career-connected learning, and fosters a nationwide network of educators and leaders dedicated to preparing every student for success in an ever-changing world.

Research shows that middle school is a pivotal window for shaping students’ futures: 87% of middle schoolers want help connecting their skills and interests to careers, and 69% of high schoolers say they needed earlier career exploration.

To meet this need, Britebound (formerly American Student Assistance) has awarded a $3 million grant to Building Hope to launch the Future Forward Schools Prize & Fellowship Program.

This three-year national initiative recognizes innovative, high-impact school models that begin career exploration as early as middle school and expands access to programs that prepare students for meaningful pathways. Annually, prizes totalling $250,000 will be awarded to schools who will then participate in a fellowship offering retreats, pro bono support, and a national community of practice dedicated to scaling what works for under-resourced students nationwide.
